Lea and Yariv, it is a worldwide love story like we love on So lovely Moments. She was french, he was living in South Africa but met & loved together in Cape Town. After two years of living and sunsets around the world hand in hand, they have chosen France to celebrate their union. Accompanied by Raphael l’Artisan photographe, they tell us their story during a walk on the island of Gaou …

Yariv is from Johannesburg, I am from Paris. Without knowing each other, we both decided that is was time for a change in our respective lives. The wind took both of us to Cape Town, for a Masters. The very same day I started university in Cape Town, I met Yariv.

We became friends, then close friends, then very close friends that were both single! Suddenly we realised that we wanted more from one another, and that in fact we did not really want to be apart, ever… Yariv was going back to Johannesburg, I was going back to Paris. We decided that we would at least give it a try, and that was the best decision ever! Distance was not easy, and at some point we both wondered if we would make it. After four months apart, Yariv surprised me in Paris for a weekend! He arrived on a Friday, went straight to my office from the airport. We spent an amazing weekend together and I took him back to the airport on the Monday morning. I think at this time, we both knew that we will spend our life together, and I definitely realised how lucky I was to be with a man who would fly twelve hours (each way) to be with me for a weekend… About two years later and after some time together in South Africa and some time apart while I was back to France, we are settled and live together in Johannesburg, we are in love, engaged, planning a wedding in South of France and a lifetime together… This is what we call destiny…!

We went to Israel on holidays after having spent a few weeks apart as I needed to go back to France for some final exams. The day after we arrived, Yariv took me on a surprise 4X4 trip with a private guide into the desert. He seemed strangely nervous as the sun was slowly starting to go down. Once we arrived at the top, the guide gave us some space and advised us to take a walk together and climb the mountain up to the very top. We did so, and when we arrived up there, all I remember is looking at this beautiful sunset and feeling so happy, when I suddenly realised that Yariv was down on one knee asking me to be his lucky wife…

Our engagement shoot was quite an experience for me as I am extremely uncomfortable facing a camera… I was actually so nervous that I didn’t sleep properly the night before. We selected the venue for the shoot on the advice of our absolutely amazing photographer Raphaël – L’Artisan Photographe. This place was perfect, at least perfectly fitting to us.

We then wanted a setting that would remind us of these places that marked important moments of our love story. The Gaou Island was then ideal. When we started the shoot we were both a bit nervous and unsure about how to do this. I think we were also very emotional as we had spent the previous days booking our wedding date, visiting different wedding venues, and were realising that the next time we will be in this part of the world will be for our wedding (ok, maybe I was way more emotional than Yariv was…!)… Raphaël was however great, he immediately made us feel comfortable, and made everything very easy for us. We in fact hardly saw him during the entire photo shoot. When we look back at this shoot, it feels more like we spent a romantic moment just Yariv and I alone, being in love and telling each other… except that Raphaël was there to capture all these precious moments and to give us the opportunity to keep a trace of this wonderful memory together..

Superbe bague !
